If you love to follow rodeo culture as much as we do you might know that the National Finals Rodeo is back in Texas again for the first time in over sixty years. First held in Dallas in 1959, it has since moved to multiple locations and remained in Las Vegas since 1984. It is known to people in the western world as “the Super Bowl of Rodeo”, and brings millions of dollars to the local economies it supports. We thought we'd celebrate rodeo finals week with a brief lesson in history—in case this is your first rodeo, that is. And, of course, the boots every rodeo goer and aficionado should sport.

NFR TEXAS

With the rodeo being back in Texas this year, it’s a coming home of sorts to where it all began. Originally, the NFR started out in order to determine the best in each of the following categories:tie-down roping, steer wrestling, bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback bronc riding, barrel racing and team roping.

It showcases the top 15 money-winners of each category. At the end of the 10-day event, a world title holder is crowned. These days, it has become not only a rodeo event for cowboys, but also a place for influencers and industry people to get involved, as well.

You’ll see lots of over-the-top western-inspired outfits, and no shortage of boots as people buzz about all the different events the NFR has to offer.
